FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT WEDDING CATERING
Is catering included in the Branxholm Park wedding package?
Yes. Branxholm Park provides in-house wedding catering as part of the wider wedding package. This helps keep the planning process simpler because couples do not need to find and coordinate a separate wedding caterer.
The food is designed to fit the flow of a relaxed country house wedding, from the welcome meal and wedding-day canapés through to breakfast, brunch, cake, evening food and snacks during your stay.
How do we choose our wedding menu?
Branxholm Park has a dedicated sample menus page where couples can explore the style of food available and understand how menu choices work.
During the wedding planning stage, we guide you through the food choices for your welcome evening and wedding day. We also ask for dietary requirements in advance so the catering team can look after your guests properly.
Tell me about the canapés.
Canapés are included as part of the Branxholm Park wedding experience. During the wedding day drinks receptions, the team serves a generous selection of canapés from trays while guests enjoy the house and grounds.
Rather than charging per canapé in the way many venues do, Branxholm keeps this part of the day relaxed, generous and hosted. We provide a varied selection and take account of the dietary requirements you have told us about in advance.
Is a wedding cake included?
Yes. The wedding package includes a two-tier wedding cake with simple buttercream icing and flowers to match your colours. Couples can usually choose from vanilla, chocolate or lemon.
You are also welcome to bring your own wedding cake if you prefer. If you do, just let us know during the planning stage so we do not prepare a Branxholm cake for you.
What is the cake cabinet?
The cake cabinet is one of the little details guests often remember. In the main house, there is a display fridge with cakes and savoury snacks available during your stay.
If you have told us about allergies or dietary requirements, we will make sure suitable options are available and clearly labelled. When the cabinet runs low, the team refills it so there is always something for guests to enjoy.
What is served for breakfast and brunch?
Breakfast is informal and relaxed, designed around the wedding morning rather than a formal sit-down meal. It normally includes a selection such as pastries, fruit, yoghurts, juices, iced water and hot breakfast rolls.
Brunch is also laid out informally for those staying on site, with options such as sandwiches and scones with cream and jam. This keeps the morning easy while everyone is getting ready.
Do you provide tea and coffee?
Yes. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available in the house for guests staying on site. If a guest needs something specific, such as decaffeinated or herbal tea, please let the team know and we can help from the catering kitchen.
Do you offer menu tastings?
Branxholm Park is not a hotel or restaurant with a full-time public kitchen, so we do not usually offer menu tastings in the way some larger venues do.
Our catering team is here for weddings and private events, and the menus are planned carefully as part of your wedding preparation. The style is generous, comforting and well suited to a hosted country house celebration.
What about food for suppliers?
It is usual for wedding suppliers who are on site for a long part of the wedding day to be offered food. If suppliers are present over the meal period, we can provide supplier meals away from the main guest tables.
Please let us know which suppliers will be on site and whether they have any dietary requirements, so this can be planned properly before the wedding.
